First day at school.

Despite the wind and rain little man scooted along to "big" school this morning.  Very excited to be wearing his new "super speedy" school shoes and insisting on carrying his bag which is far too big but was exactly what big boys have at school.

Smiling on the playground  and ready to face his new adventure:

After lining up beautifully, finding his peg, putting his book bag away and placing his water bottle in the basket, he decided he really didn't want to be at big school   and was far too tired and feeling very sad.  He knows just  how to make his mummy feel bad and spend all morning hoping he was having a good time and wondering  how time has gone by so quickly, four years has gone by so fast.  Happily he came out smiling at lunchtime and  it was so good he may even go back tomorrow (and for the next seven years my lovely)!

School is alway much better when you have older brothers and sisters to look out for you, lucky little man has several of those.

The mornings adventures have all been a little too much for this little August boy, too tired to even make it to bed.

Now to wake him to collect the others.....

Eighteen Months

Little Miss determined is quickly becoming miss determined and independent! Very self sufficient, able to open the cupboard and help herself to her favourite food, incredibly fearless, easily climbing onto the windowsill or any available unsafe furniture.

Independence is fantastic at meal times though:

This little girl knows exactly how to work her audience and is very adept at charming those around her.

Who can resist such a happy babe?

Little Miss Determined

I may only be seventeen months (today) and fool most people into thinking I am a lovely, happy, laid back  kind of babe,

but I am also showing my very determined side.  Running away  from Daddy after bath time into the garden  and climbing up the big slide is much more fun than bed time!

Although we are all very grateful for your "feistyness";  it helped you when you were born and were not very well and helped you last week when again you had to go to hospital with breathing problems.

Being the youngest of six is always going to make you pretty tough.

Just as well you have a big brother who loves you.

Dad

"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed"  says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Isaiah 54 v 10

Sixteen months (last week!)

Ruby is such a delight at the moment, this month has been full of many happy things:  first shoes, lots of baby babble, especially "Dadda", exploring and running around with older brother, pulling her eye patch off and visiting a soft play centre for the first time.

These flash when you walk and are shiny purple...what more can a little girl want!

Patch on.....

Far too easily taken off nowadays!

Happy Sixteenth month little girl - do you fancy sleeping now?

fifteen months

I started this  blog for several reasons:  to create  family memories, especially for Ruby's first years, to actually do something with all the photos that are on the hard drive, and to hopefully motivate me to finally finish one of my many craft projects.  Since I have not even opened a baby  record book for my smallest child, this little blog goes some way to alleviate the  guilt and will hopefully be a lovely memory to look back on.

The little lady is now fifteen months and is developing such a lovely sweet nature, she has been the slowest of all of them to walk but  this week seems to have finally decided she prefers to walk  rather than crawl.  She loves her bags and is a girl of expensive taste as her accessory of choice is a Jack Wills bag.  For those of you who are not familiar with this oh so trendy and pretty pricey shop we are only able to stretch to the bag they give you when you buy something.  Ruby has been tottering around the house putting a variety of things in the bag,  usually shoes and socks, this lady has style!

Another top activity is to empty all the cupboards. Mummy was prepared however, and after several breakages last week has now moved the plastic plates to her cupboard of choice.  Little miss independent is now able to go to the cupboards and open the bread sticks or hunt out the raisins and help herself to a snack, I'm sure she would prefer a much less healthy snack but they have been hidden in a higher cupboard.

You bring us all so much happiness little lady!

Is that more mischief you are planning?
